South of Slocan City, the Slocan River meanders through farms, ranches and homesteads making it's way to Kootenay River. Tiny communities like Winlaw, Slocan Park, South Slocan and Crescent Valley at the junction of Hwy 3, dot the landscape. Watch for roadside signs for Kootenay Country Craft Distillery, art studios, Fomi's bakery, a few convenience and small grocery stores. Looking for more action? Head out on your own on a bike ride or walk on the Rail Trail which follows the Slocan River from Slocan City to the junction or check in with Endless Adventure for a stand up paddle session, or kayaking and rafting excursions.
Lodging possibilities in the valley include Karibu Park Cottages & Campground and Lemon Creek Lodge. Or if you need to move on south, head to Nelson where there are a variety of lodging possibilities. Life unfolds in Kootenay Time, so relax, enjoy the hospitality and take in all that a quiet country valley has to offer!
